James has been helping individuals and families manage their retirement financial goals for more than two decades. He creates independent, customized retirement plans that work to build, preserve and transfer his clients' wealth, and is committed to assisting them to exceed their life goals.
Most notable is James' deep domain expertise in transitioning clients from the accumulation to distribution phases, ensuring that their assets will be there for them after their working years are over. He does so by assessing the risk of returns against their current and future asset allocations. Few planners dedicate themselves in this skill to the level that James does.
James received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification in 1996 and is also an Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC). He holds the FINRA Securities Registrations Series 7, 24, 63 and 65, through LPL, for 16 states. James received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and received the certification in investment and finance from the Harvard University Extension Studies program. Away from the office, he's an avid volunteer with the San Diego Rotary Club, Santa Fe Christian Schools and Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church. James enjoys spending time with his family as well as skiing and sailing.
